In the summer of 2023, the Minocqua Brewing Company was illegally shut down by our deeply conservative county’s planning and zoning committee in an attempt to silence our progressive activism.
We decided to open another Tap Room in progressive Madison, Wisconsin, as a way to protect our business against future political attacks.
Named “Home Away from Home,” we dedicate this beer to the city of Madison—our biggest market and a place that has given us refuge after years of political struggle “Up North.” it’s an East Coast-styled Hazy IPA, but we call it an “East Side” IPA , because the new tap room is located in Madison’s historically progressive East Side.
