Last September, we paid Gregg Walker, publisher of Minocqua’s right wing Lakeland Times, $50K to settle the largest defamation judgement in Wisconsin’s history ($750K). Our insurance company paid him $530K, but we’re guessing he paid close to a $1M in legal fees over the course of this 3 year circus..

…a Pyrrhic victory to say the least.

This lawsuit, which Walker won with the help of two extremely partisan rural judges, was an attempt to stop us from shining a light on how he used his paper to bully those who couldn’t defend themselves.
 
In short, he could dish it out, but couldn’t take it…the classic definition of a “Snowflake.”
 
No lawsuit will ever stop us from speaking truth to power and melting snowflakes like Gregg Walker with humor and great tasting beer.
 
“Snowflake” is our holiday gift to all those who need a little liquid courage to stand up to bullies, and our creative attempt to earn back the $50k we just paid to the biggest snowflake in Northern Wisconsin.
