Giving Thanks Now So We Can Drink Beer Next Week

Hi Folks,

Because next week is Thanksgiving and Sunday will be full of family time and football, I wanted to spend this Sunday giving thanks to the many folks who helped both the Minocqua Brewing Company and the Super PAC over the last year.

And much less important than that, but of interest to many, I’ll close this email announcing our Black Friday merchandise sale that will last until Cyber Monday.

Now for the heartwarming stuff.

Although you hear from me most every Sunday in my weekly newsletter, there are lots of other people supporting the work of the Minocqua Brewing Company and Super PAC.

Starting with folks who keep the brewery rocking, I wanted to thank my right-hand man Emanuel “the Beer Sherpa with a Million Dollar Smile." Without him we’d be a MESS. Also thanks to Tony the artist, Tony the musician, Tim in Minnesota, Tom and Jerry in Chicago, George in DC, and the many brewing artisans who make our suds special.

Thanks to those who both built and ran the taproom in Minocqua last summer: Chris the architectural mastermind, Pointer-brothers-in-construction John and Matt, and the guys that you saw each day--Cody, Roger, and Dave.

Moving to the Super PAC, I wanted to thank Sarah Yacoub for all of her help early on before she left to run for the state assembly, and the countless other progressive political minds who continue to help me figure out how to “Make Wisconsin Sane Again.”

As for the Up North Podcast, I’d like to thank my cohosts Pat Kreitlow and Kristin Lyerly, and of course my friend Mike Crute and his team at Civic Media who we’ve partnered with to get the show on live radio across the state.

And the lawyers—we can’t forget about the lawyers, there’s a LOT OF THEM. Tim, Doug, and Fred for defending me against a frivolous defamation lawsuit by my local newspaper. Joe, Mark, and their team for helping me sue Ron Johnson, Tom Tiffany, and Scott Fitzgerald for aiding and abetting the insurrection. Jim and Collin for defending me against the Old Boys Network of Minocqua and the oligopoly of distributors and lobbyists that make selling booze in Wisconsin so complicated. And we can’t forget about Rich and Dawn in DC who helped defend me against a frivolous yet expensive Republican complaint against my Super PAC that immediately got tossed by the FEC.

Yeah, my company has had to spend WAY TOO MUCH MONEY on lawyers over the last year, which leads me to the next part of this letter.

We fuel ALL OF THIS activism through the sales of pretty tasty beer, cool merchandise, and of course, your donations to the Super PAC.

At some point, we’d like to STOP asking for donations and get big enough to fund the Super PAC on our own, but as you can see by all the lawyers, there’s been quite a few roadblocks along the way.

This holiday season is important for most any company that sells booze and clothing—lots of holiday parties and gift-giving.

For those that live too far away to buy our beer, or who don’t drink alcohol, we’re offering a Black Friday Sale on merchandise that will last until then End of Cyber Monday.

  • 25% off on all sweatshirts
  • 10% off on all t-shirts
  • No discount on the can koozies, stickers, and coasters because they’re all pretty inexpensive as it is.

Just a reminder, the discounts are applied in your shopping carts, so you won’t see those savings until you’re about to check out.

Happy early Thanksgiving, everyone, and thanks so much for sticking with us.

We helped save Wisconsin’s democracy in early November, and now we can enjoy the holidays, one beer and can koozy at a time.

Owner, Minocqua Brewing Company

Founder, Minocqua Brewing Company Super PAC
